Mission Statement

To improve the quality, reliability, service, and cost of the health care information infrastructure, starting with managed health care systems, through facilitating the collaboration, enabled by Open Source Software and the Internet, of each health care entity in the development and control of their own mission critical applications.

Mission Fulfillment
• Provide a forum for the definition of standards, the resolution of implementation issues; the development and delivery of education and training programs; and the development of strategies, tactics, and software for the expansion of the health care infrastructure controlled by member companies.
• Provide a forum where the best practices in information technology can be exposed, combined, and implemented for the benefit of each member.
• Provide a forum for training developers to better understand how to develop applications, including large-scale distributed systems.
• Increase the overall efficiency and 'bottom line' results of information systems within member companies.
